Miroslava & Gregory's Wedding

Our Story 

We met at work...no, we didn't break any HR policies. Greg was already working at South High as a Math/Robotics teacher when Miros started in August of 2022 as a School Community Specialist. Although her office was right next to Greg’s classroom there were never any formal introductions. Rather, Greg busted into Miros’ office one fateful day and to his surprise she was there. He had checked out the space earlier that week with the intent to sneakily store his laser cutter. Even though she was initially taken aback at her surprise visitor, she thought he was handsome, so she obliged to letting him use her space. This quite literally opened the door for many more “break ins” where Greg would leave behind sweet surprise gestures including notes, candy, chips and even cactuses. As time passed, they discreetly observed each other's qualities and abilities. Planting a seed of mutual admiration and respect for one another’s heart and work ethic.

Miros was hoping to start a food pantry/student resource closet at South High and who was the first to volunteer his help? Greg. One evening in particular, Greg decided to stay late to demo the room now known as The Spartan Market and Miros offered to help. Even though she was of little practical help, she knew how to get a laugh out of him and several hours later they were both sitting on a dusty floor talking the night away. In that moment, they both recognized something more than a friendship was sprouting. After another four-hour conversation, Greg rescuing a cat out of a car, two dozen roses, a homemade cake, and an orange jacket Greg asked Miros to be his girlfriend. But of course, in true (anxious) Miros' fashion she first had Greg answer her bevy of questions and entertain her numerous "what-if" scenarios. After what Greg jokes felt like a business meeting, she excitedly said yes. Marking the beginning to a relationship that has blossomed into a love that finds joy in the mundane and calmness in the chaos. A love that begets further love.
